What Causes Elevated SGOT And SGPT Levels During Pregnancy?

Question: My wife is in her 34th week of preganancy. Her SGOT and SGPT is 69.7 and 119.8 respectively. Her Alkaline phosphate is 134. Please advise.

yes, this is cholestasis of pregnancy.

Yes, this condition is called cholestasis of pregnancy.
The liver function is below normal due to hormones of pregnancy.
The treatment consists of Udihep twice a day.
Lacto calamine lotion and tablet Cetirizine at night for itching.
tests should be repeated every 2 -3 weeks .
Careful watch should be kept on baby's movements.
