Brief Answer:
Increased SGPT indicates liver injury.

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXX
Thanks for writing to HCM

Increased SGPT indicates liver injury.Increase in SGPT may be due to many reasons like hepatitis, alcohol intake, altered lipid profile, medicines, auto immune causes etc.

In your case, increased SGPT is most likely due to hepatitis.
Increased SGOT is non specific and it increases in many conditions.

You need few other investigations like routine hemogram,Random blood sugar(RBS),Complete liver function test(LFT),Lipid profile,Renal function test(RFT),ultrasound of abdomen.CT scan of abdomen and biopsy of liver can be done if needed.

You should avoid red meat and high fat food products.

You are getting right treatment, you should continue it.

Get well soon.
Hope I have answered your question.
Further queries are most welcome.
