Question : Hello.
I complained of an headache dat affects the left side of my body, saw a Dr. who performed some test (lipid, ECG, FBC, ulcer test etc) all came back normal except for my lipid test that came back 198.4%. I also did an MRI brain scan that came back normal, also saw a neurology who prescribed (Ligaba-pregabalin, Meconeru forte and vasoprin) which am taking.
The neurologist thinks it's the high cholesterol that is affecting me, despite on the drugs I woke up this morning with slight pain on the left side of my forehead, eye-a bit of tears came from my left eye, uncomfortable bt nt painful feeling on tail end of my cheek, the non painful sensation starts from my left shoulder to the tip of my finger.
The sensation in my arm feels like ice on it.
thanks

Hi Aira,
Thanks for being on healthcaremagic.com.
I am Dr.Ajay Panwar,a neurologist,here to answer your query.

I understand your concerns and I would like to address them at my best but I need to know a few extra details about your headache-
1)What is the frequency and duration of your headache(since when are you having it and how frequent-once a week, once a month--like that)?
2)Is the headache accompanied with nausea?
3)Does the headache increases in severity on exposure to bright light or sound?
4)What factors worsen and what are the factors which improve your headache?
5)Is it associated with stress or depression?

I shall be glad to have you in follow-up so that I can answer this well.

1. Headache started on the 4th of January 2016 and it's been on and off since then. it could be gone for 2 or 3 days then back again
2. some times I feel like vomiting/nausea but I never throw up. also I get dizzy
3. yes my eyes get sensitive to light and I can't use my headphone
4. nothing so far has improved the headache, but I get much better after my routine exercise then 2 days after everything starts happening again
5. I have never been diagnosed with stress and depression before

I just know I have a heightened sense of feeling on left side

Brief Answer:
Appears to be primary headache/Anti-migraine drug trial

Detailed Answer:
Hi Aira,
Thanks for being in follow-up and providing further details.

In background of the clinical details you have provided,it appears to be a primary headache, possibly migraine.
Migraine headache is usually hemicranial, associated with nausea, and increases on exposure to light or sound. It can present with pain in neck and shoulders as well.

You may be put on anti-migraine drug trial for now, and observed for the response.
If your headache does not respond to drug therapy, then you need to go for a brain imaging like Contrast CT scan or MRI of brain.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to have you in follow-up else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.

My MRI scan came back normal. i

please understand that the only pain I feel is behind and underneath my left eye which spreads to my forehead then to the left side of my head then to the center of my head. I feel pain at the back of my head and neck also

I DO NOT feel any pain in my shoulder down to my finger just a heightened nerve sensational feeling which I can feel all over my body. the feeling is like my arm going numb or weak but it's really not.

Brief Answer:
Drug trial for primary headache.

Detailed Answer:
Hi Aira,
Thanks for being in follow-up.

Of course,I understand your clinical situation. I am of the strong opinion that this is primary headache. You should be put on a trial of anti-migraine therapy and response should be observed for.MRI Brain coming back normal, further strengthens this diagnostic possibility.

Primary headache can be associated with strange sensations sometimes,as you have described.

Hope that I have answered your query. If you have some further questions,I shall be glad to answer else please close the thread, rate it and write a review.
