What Causes Elevated Microalbumin Levels In Urine?

Question: I have had three separate urine tests done and i have high levels of microalbumin. The first one was taken on 3/14/15 and was 59.0 with protein/creatinine ratio of .77 and protein of 113. Second one was done on 3/28/15 and was 97.2 with protein at 159 and protein/creatinine of .82. Third one was done on 3/30/15 and was 98.7 with protein 166 and protein/creatinine of .79. What does this mean? I am 5' 8" and 150lbs.

Your findings suggest excess protein in urine.Underling cause should be searched and it need treatment.
It need clinical correlation and further investigations.
It may be due to many reasons like glomerulonephritis,chronic hypertension,chronic diabetes mellitus etc.
Besides clinical correlation,you may need routine hemogram,fasting and postprandial blood sugar,complete renal function test(include serum urea,creatinine,creatinine clearance,GFR,24 hour total albumin in urine,etc),ultrasound of abdomen.

You may need diet regulation and may need to take medicines.
Proper treatment depend upon clinical findings and investigation reports.
You should consult nephrologist.
