Brief Answer:
Systemic Hypertension

Detailed Answer:
Dear Friend.
Welcome to HCM. I am Dr Anshul Varshney. I understand your concern.
You are suffering from Systemic Hypertension. So you would have high blood pressure even with out exertion. Infact exertion would raise the blood pressure further.
I suppose you are taking Metoprolol but I feel you should also discuss with your doctor about adding a Thiazide diuretic group of Anti Hypertensive for a better blood pressure control as this drug is first choice according to latest guidelines JNC 8.
So you would require to take medication irrespective of you are exerting or not.
If you have any further query please ask me.
Stay Healthy.
