What Causes Elevated Uric Acid Levels?

Question: Today I discussed with my friend and I got to know that Level of Uric Acid above 6 is not good for health. Is this right . I recently did the Blood test and my Uric acid is around 6.85.
if this Is Not good . How I can reduce it to low level or what precautions I need to took to overcome this.

Hi and welcome.

This is only slightly elevated uric acid and this is not significant and wont cause any pathology. So you dont need to be concerned as long as it is lower than 8. Cetain food may increase uric acid such as lean meat, fish and poultry. ALso, vitamin C, fruit and coffee will decrease it. But as I said, there is no need for specific dietary changes.
