What Causes Enlarged Male Breasts And Low Facial Hair?

Question: hello doctor. i am 25 yr old male. I am having enlarged male breasts from past 10 years. I have low facial hairs. Doctor I am worried about my fertility. Will my condition lead to infertility? I am getting married in next year.

As you have met a physician , done the preliminary work up and its found to be normal. This may be of great help in your situation.

However I will suggest you get a semen analysis done - to see if its within normal limits. If the test is normal - then there is not much to worry about with regards to fertility.

For the male breast - you can get a plastic surgery done to improve the physical appearance.

Dear Dr, actually I consulted an endocrinologist regarding my problem. The doctor examined my breasts and told palpation is there. What does it mean madam? And the doctor examined my testicles and said testes looks normal. Also the doctor told under arm hair growth and pattern and also pubic region hair growth and pattern looks all normal. Dr asked about erection and i told I do get erections. And they suggested hormone analysis and ultrasound of breasts.

I will send my hormone levels found in the analysis. They are as follows.
Beta HCG(serum)= < 0.100 mlU/ml
Testosterone total, serum = 4.14 ng/ml
TSH (serum) = 4.02 ulU/ml
Free T4 (serum) = 1.21 ng/dl
LH (serum) = 9.23 mlU/ml
Prolactin (serum) = 19.79 ng/ml
Estradiol (E2), serum =32.43 pg/ml
Are these hormone levels normal for adult male?
Liver functioning test results are normal.
Ultrasonogram of both breasts results are as follows;
1. Nipple and subareolar tissue are normal.
2. No retraction or skin thickening are seen.
3. The pectoralis and retro mammary space appears normal.
4. No abnormal calcification seen.
5. No axillary lymph nodes are seen
6. No focal or diffused lesions.
Impression: No abnormalities seen in both breasts.

After seeing the reports doctor told me to try exercises and to check whether the breast size reduces. But it didnt reduce. Doctor told me if u are getting married, then get it removed. So my question is that
1. Will enlarged breast in me will affect my married life ?
2. The moustache hair growth is very minor in me. Beard hair growth is almost ok ok. Will this affect married life?
3. I feel my testicle size is comparatively small. Its around 2-2.5 cm in length. Is it normal?
3.Is there any medicines can reduce enlarged breast in my condition other than surgery?
4. For semen analysis is there any rule like in fastening, i should give the sample? What is the procedure ?
5. In labs will they do semen analysis without doctors prescription?

Hello again

I really cannot comment on the need for surgery without actual examination of the person. However - your consultant should be able to tell you this. If its very large - then for improvement of overall appearance, surgery may be required.

Mustache hair growth and testicular size doesn't significantly interfere with future sexual life if all other endocrine and urological assessments are normal. My expertise do not cover endocrine and urology. You can check with the relevant doctors.

Semen analysis - can be done in any lab - the instructions will be standard - 2 to 3 days of abstinence, and the procedure to collect will be given by the lab assistant.

you can contact a near by lab and see if they ask for a prescription for the test. if so then you need to meet a physician and get one for the same.

you should meet a urologist who will examine you help you if there is any problem
