Posted on Mon, 27 Mar 2017
Question: Hi Doctor,

My mother (XXXX) has been diagnosed with diaphragm myoclonus based on the EMG test done by you at the Apollo hospitals. She has been using Liofen 20 XL and they are working good for her condition.

She is in USA now and I am planning to visit a neurologist here, and I would like to get her electronic medical records regarding the tests done by you at the Apollo facility. Please let me know.

Brief Answer:
The reports are provided to the patient.

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I am glad to note that she is doing well.

We had done an EMG (electromyography) about three years ago, which had confirmed the diagnosis. The report was provided to the patient.

Best wishes,

Hi Doctor,

Unfortunately, she did not bring her medical reports to USA. It will be really helpful if you can send the electronic copies of the reports to my email address, as the doctor visit here need the background information of the tests done. Please let me know. Any help is appreciated in this regard.

Thank you, XXXXXXX

Brief Answer:
Hospital does not keep records for out patients

Detailed Answer:
Thank you for getting back.

Unfortunately, the hospital gives all the reports to the patients in out patient area. Your family members would be having them.

The only test, which helped in making the diagnosis was- EMG of diaphragmatic muscles, which confirmed the diagnosis of diaphragmatic myoclonus. If you mention this to the neurologist there, they would understand it.

Thank you for getting back.

Are there any other tests done like whole body MRI/X-ray to rule out other possible issues? If so, I will mention along with EMG, so that there will be no need to do MRI again.

Thank you for the response.

Is there a way I can get the summarized notes of the condition, tests done and diagnosis? This will be really helpful for the doctors here, instead of me explaining in generic terminology (I am ready to pay any fee involved in the process)

Greatly appreciate your help in this regard.

Thank you, XXXXXXX
