What Causes Erectile Dysfunction Post Hemorrhoidectomy?
Question: i had a hemorrhoidectamy 2 weeks ago am on fantasy patch for pain and now have erectile dysfunction and never had before surgery

Thanks for your query,based on the facts that you have posted it appears that you have been operated for Hemorrhoidectomy and was using Fentanyl Patch for pain relief and since then have problem of Erectile Dysfunction.

1) Have you been using any narcotic drug before you started Fentanyl Patch?
Though Fentanyl does not have side of ED Your problem of ED is mostly due to effect of the drug on Central Nervous System .
Since 2 weeks have already passed after surgery you can gradually stop using Fentanyl which will help you to regain your sexual potency and correct problem of ED.

i have not been using any narcotic before fentanyl was taking percocet with patch for first seven days and was able to stop. I stopped the patch today. I am just making sure surgery itself shouldn't cause this as doctor said he didn't do anything that would cause it, he thinks patch is causing problem

Your ED can be due to refereed pain from the site of surgery as penis and anus have same nerve innervation .This will get resolved once your wound heals up.
