Dear
Thanks for contacting Ayurveda with your health concern and following clarification is required from your side for further necesary assistance:
1. Since the stoppage of said drug,do you get any sort of nocturnal erection or partial erections or there is inabilitynto initiate and maintain the erection of sufficient rigidity?
2. Since good sex/erection also depends upon may factors: physical (Neuro-endo- vascular system), psychological, quality of relationship with partner,so any disturbance in these result in sexual dysfunctions which result in frustration,dis-satisfaction and lower self esteem, adversely affecting the quality of life.
PS. Any history of diabetes, endocrine, neurological dysfunction , and any routine hematological & biochemical investigations done.
3. Any method of Alternative medicine's discussed, suggested by local doctor or taken in 3 year period?
4. Ayurveda offers hope to this growing challenge in form of Vajikarana Tantra (science dealing with reproductive and sexual health) but before discussing it more do let me know about above questionnaire.

Yes, i do have nocturnal erections but not as strong as i once had before taking finasteride.
I am not yet married. No relationship problems.
I do not have diabetes or any other diseases.
I used nanoleo tablets for two months very recently but nothing much difference i can find.

Thanks for reverting back.
1. Since you are unmarried thus start practicing perineal exercises: i.e. while urinating, stop the flow of urine, start again, stop and start again 4-5 times.
PS. When there are partial erections which patient cannot maintain, the act of perineal muscle contractions should be repeated several times a day.
2. Apart from drugs, addiction and overweight also plays an important part in ED (do let me know about any addiction & your lifestyle)
3. Before prescribing medication for ED, any patient should be evaluated for a potential risk of a cardiovasculr event thus have yourself checked by a Cardiologist.
4. Successful "UTTARABASTI" treatment for those who are not responding to conventional Ayurvedic and Allopathic teatment offers a new hope in the field of Andrology to counteract sexual dysfunction.
PS. UTTARABASTI of Mahamasha taila in the dose of 30 ml of three courses and in strict aseptic measures is found to be effective to arrest early degenerative process in neurovascular system and to normalise the psychological status due to its Vrishya,Rasayana & Vatahara effect in achieving the good sexual potency. You may consult a good Ayurveda (Panchakarma) Physician for the same.
5. Others prescription drugs which you may ask for is/are: Shatavari (asparagus racemosus), Ashwagandha (withania somnifera), Safed musli (asparagus officinalis), potency wood (Muira puama), Zinc.
6. In nut shell: a healthy lifestyle, avoid smoking/excessive use of alcohol and fat rich food, keeping the body weight within normal limits and maintaining the cholesterol and blood pressure at low level and daily exercise with safe herbal medicines, one can avoid ED with just a littl effort.
PS. ED increases with age and in older men it usually has a physical (disease/injury or side effect of alllopathic drugs) cause whereas in younger age the cause is more of psychological (as 3 years have passed since last taken finasteride the associated decreased libido and ED are ADR (adverse drug reaction) and not permanant effect of the drug) so 3 year period is sufficient for the drug to get excreted out from the body.

Finasteride is said to have permanent side effects. That is my worry
Finasteride-effect and impact on sexual function (Post Finasteride Syndrome
Detailed Answer:
Dear
Thanks for reverting back.
1. Have a second opinion regarding the aaid problem and drug abuse.
PS. Best option could be HCG or Clomid that will activate your testicles to produce testosterone the natural way,and some people think the problem is permanent because they are only focussing on testosterone, thus best is to check with:
. Pregnenolone or progesterone
. Salivary cortisol and thyroid hormones.
2. Several long term placebo-controlled studies using International Index of Erectile Function-5 questionnaire and objective method (Nocturnal Penile Tumescence) for assessing ED have found no substantial evidence in men receiving or received finasteride, although low ejaculatory volume is the only dose related relationship between finasteride and sexual function.
PS. It is also reported in clinical trials that prevalence of ED declines with increased duration of therapy, therefore, large population based-long term and placebo controlled clinical studies is required to establish the relationship between finasteride and ED
3. It is important to exclude other causes of ED,i.e.
. Age of the patient
. History of ED in family or population.

Dear
Thanks for reverting back.
As discussed earlier, since all people have different constitution (PRAKRITI) thus respond differently to the same drug i.e.in some symptoms may be mild-moderate-severe and as such your attending physician will be in better position to tell you about the prognosis.
1. As of my experience, again if patient is not getting desired results either with any conventional line of treatment, I usually advice to go for "UTTARABASTI" Treatment.
2. Yogasanas which are found helpful in ED is /are:
. Dhanurasan. ( bow pose)
. Naukasana (boat pose)
. Passchimuttan asan. (Seating forward bend pose)
. Khumbhasan (plank pose)
. Bhujang asan (cobra pose)
. XXXXXXX XXXXXXX asan (wind relieving pose)
. Khandasan
. Anal Lifts/Abdominal lifts
.Uttanpad asan.
Ps.consult a certified/experience yoga trainer around your locality for better understanding of the same.
