What Causes Erectile Dysfunction?
Question: Hi. I've just looked at a doctor's advice to someone of 43 years who asked about taking Bisoprolol (5 or 10mgs) at the same time as Viagra. Now, I am 78, though active, walking, working as a photographer, carrying out the usual daily tasks and active social life. I am taking Bisoprolol (reduced to 5mgs from 10) in conjunction with Ibersartan and Warfarin(7-8) and have been advised that Digoxin may be beneficial(6.25). The reason was a heart failure episode; my condition is now stable and helped enormously by a pacemaker, now installed for three years, and I have been discharged from the cardiac clinic for over a year. My reason for asking advice is that I recently experienced ED with someone with whom there is a strong mutual attraction. The rest of my 'plumbing' works fine.
Brief Answer:
You can take viagra but be careful with nitrates..
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
I have gone through your medical history carefully and understood your concerns. One of the known side effects of beta blockers like bisoprolol is ED.
You can take viagra but be careful with drugs like nitrites that would enhance its effect and cause heart attack.
Hope it was of help! Let me know if I can be of further help!
