Question : For the past several months I have been dealing with excess mucus that first showed up in my tear ducts, and later in my ears. I also have chronic sinus difficulties. I am having trouble getting rid of the mucus and would like to know if you can let me know what causes this problem and how best to treat it.

You have been noticing an increase in mucous production in various parts of your body. This is an age related problem and is not pathological. The best answers to your question and problem is to be well hydrated. By maintaining good overall hydration your glands will not need to produce so much mucous and if you do the mucous will be thinner. Mucinex is a mucolytic which mans it makes mucous thinner. You can cause the mucous to be thinner with the combination of water, juice or anything to improve hydration and the mucinex.
