Question : I am usually regular. However, I started my period a couple days early this month. It's been 7 days now and I'm still having light bleeding. I haven't had any cramps and discharge has been lighter than normal. We have not used any birth control methods in several years. I am 36.

Brief Answer:
This is normal occurrence

Detailed Answer:
Hi,

Thanks for your query.

I read your query and I understand your concerns.

Following is my reply:

1) This is unlikely to be pregnancy.

2) Such bleeding is common once in a while due to excessive shedding of endometrium and corresponding bleeding.

3) Dont worry about one episode as such episodes generally dont repeat.

I hope I answered your query. I will be available for any follow up query you have.

Regards,
Dr. Soumya
