Question : I had a laporoscopic cholecystectomy this morning, My mouth is so very dry no matter how much I'm driking….Is this normal?
Brief Answer:
Yes, this is normal.
Detailed Answer:
Hello!
Thank you for the query.
Yes, this is normal. Please note that before the surgery and today you have not been drinking at all. Only i.v fluids were given. But very often this is not fully enough so the body stays mildly dehydrated. That is why you have dry mouth. Please give it some time. Its very early after the surgery. This symptom should go away in next few days as you will start drinking as before the surgery.
Hope this will help. Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.
