Question : I got over pheumonia about two weeks ago, followed by a week of late day chills, which has now stopped. Yesterday, while traveling, my frequency of urination was normal but amount excessive..Then I really felt dehydrated and today hardly peeing for last 12 hours...normal frequency of urge but only a little comes out...no fever...just feel like my bladder is full...trying to drink more water. Have dad about 4 glasses today but don't want to pop...ha!

Brief Answer:
Its dehydration only.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Greetings from Dr Divakara P
Thanks for posting your query.

Well I think it is still dehydration that is causing low urine output on you.

Though there are many causes of low urine output like obstruction to urine flow, kidney failure, low blood pressure but I feel its dehydration that is the cause in you.

I recommend you increase your fluid intake to 4-5 litres per day and observe what happens. Most likely with increased fluid intake you shall pass urine normally. If it doesn't happen you can use a low dose diuretic like Lasix for a couple of days.

Hope this information was useful to you.

Any clarification feel free to ask.

Regards.
