Question: even with medication, for hoshimotos disease, and even when levels are in good , can a person still feel tired and run down? i mean will you have good days and bad with it? will there be days where your exhausted and then days when you feel okay? even with treatment?

Brief Answer:
Unlikely

Detailed Answer:
One, the diagnosis of Hashimoto's disease needs to be accurately and correctly made.

Once that is certain, then the decision as to whether or not treatment with levo thyroxine should be commeced, needs to be made.

Once a decision to treat has been made, it is important to arrive at the right dose over a few months.

Once the dose is appropriate and the blood tests for TSH and Free T4 are in the target range, then the thyroid is considered well regulated.

If you see a thyroid expert regularly, then this can be maintained in a stable manner.
When the thyroid is stable, it is unlikely to have swings like the way you are describing, due to the thyroid condition. Other reasons need to be explored.

thanks and i have been on synthroid for a year. a few months back it was hard to get levels regulated but lately theyve been on a good level. back in XXXXXXX my levels were an 8.7 and now there down to a 1.25. it just seems as tho ive never gotten my energy back since the hoshimotos. i also was just diagnosed with pcos so i guess maybe it could just be all these changes my bodies had to go through. i do regularly go to do thyroid doc every 3 months and recently, was put on armor to try and see if it maybe helps me better. thanks for your time.
