What Causes Extreme Fatigue, Chronic Hair Loss And Recurring Skin Infections?

default
Posted on Fri, 14 Nov 2014
Question: Hello,

I am a 27 year old male, height 5'10 and weigh 145lbs,happily married. For the last two years I have extreme fatigue and chronic hairloss. My skin also is turning thin and
i have recurring skin infections. I have extensive blood work done and everything came
back normal, except slightly high chlestrol . Two of my maternal uncles committed suicide when they were 25 and 27. I don't know why because I wasn't born at that time. I think its some sort of hormonal imbalance and I want to get extensive hormonal testing. Please guide me to some private clinic here in US or anywhere in the world and what sort hormonal tests should i get, I don't care of the cost.

Thank You!
sincerely

Hello and Welcome

I appreciate your concern.

Fatigue can be due to a number of reasons especially insomnia and sleep cycle disturbances. Vitamins and mineral supplementation to correct for any deficiencies should be done.

Hair loss can be due to local infective causes , systemic disease or genetic predisposition. I would advise you to use medicinal shampoos containing Ketoconazole and Ciclosporin twice every week to eradicate any infective cause locally responsible for the hair fall. Zinc supplementation with B complex vitamins will also aid in hair texture being improved. If the Blood counts including TLC, ESR are normal then there is no systemic cause most likely.

The recurrent skin lesions need to be assessed to see if they are allergic or infective. You may state the medications which you have used for the recurrent skin infections, to help you further.

Hormonal imbalance is less likely though you
have the right to ask you physician to get you
tested for that. I would suggest you consult a psychiatrist
so that a XXXXXXX mental state exam is performed.
to ascertain depression and or anxiety,
Meds can be adjusted afterwards in addition
to cognitive behavioral therapy. Yoga and meditation ,
too have proven benefit in addition to relaxing exercise.

Please write your state and city information to guide you about a clinic that is near your area.
