What Causes Extreme Tiredness And Fatigue While Exercising?
Question: When I go to Gym and lift weights for even 10 mins or just walk for 45 minutes , I get extreme tiredness and fatigue. I do eat some thing before going to Gym. The tiredness take all my energy out and I am back to normal only after couple of hours or even one day. I am a vegetarian and not sure my diet is the cause. In fact one day I had salad for lunch and walked 30 minutes - the fatigue came and stayed for 4 hours. It remains even if I take Sugary drinks or coffee
Brief Answer:
possible anemia, low thyroid, low sugars
Detailed Answer:
Hello,
It sounds like you may have developed anemia or a problem with your sugars or thyroid.
If you are vegetarian then you may be deficient in B12.
Low thyroid hormone can also cause this type of fatigue.
If your sugars are low then this can also make you very tired and sometimes dizzy.
The best thing for you to do is to see a doctor for some blood tests and an exam so that you can figure out the cause of this abnormal fatigue.
It is not good to get so fatigued after such a small amount of exercise.
I hope you get an answer and treatment soon,
Regards

I read about B12 on the net . Is there a specific Blood test to check ? I read that B12 deficiecy can create palpitations or SVT. I get palpitations when I am tensed in office meetings. The last attacks severe were in Dec 2015 when going to airport , the heart beat was at 200-250 per minute and came down when I was advised Vagal manuever. In Oct 2014 , the palpitations went to 800 per minute and came down after Adenosin was given.
If I take B12 supplements , are there any side effects ? In fact I observed that , in both my SVT attacks , I had been taking One a day mens pill for about week or so , then I got the palpitations. Does any of the ingredients in One a day cause this ?
Hi Dr , I forgot to add , my last blood test says Thyroid was normal.

Brief Answer:
need testing
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
It is important that you be tested to find the cause of your anemia. There are many causes and you can make it hard to diagnose if you start taking B12. You need to know what is causing your fatigue before you start treating it. You need blood tests for blood counts, B12, iron and thyroid at a minimum.
There is nothing in a multivitamin that would cause SVT.
Please see your doctor and get blood tests done to see what is wrong before you start trying to treat it.
