default
Posted on Wed, 29 Oct 2014
Question: I had an upper infected decayed molar pulled 9/18. Ever since then, my left eye waters and feels like it's being stabbed with a knife. My sinus' on the left side run, and I can find no relief. I went to the dentist they said it was a medical issue. I'm on antibiotic, arithamiason and Norco 3.25.
The left side of my head and face hurt very bad.

Brief Answer:
oro-antral fistula to be ruled out

Detailed Answer:
Hello dear,welcome to HCM forum.

Your symptoms are suggestive of bacterial sinusitis with secondary spread through nasolacrymal duct.

When this condition follows extraction of upper molars,we have to rule out an important complication-oro antral fistula(communication between oral cavity and maxillary antrum). This present with acute bacterial sinusitis.

Kindly see an ENT surgeon at the earliest for evaluation.
Meanwhile, continue the antibiotic, and keep very good oral hygiene.

Hope this will answer your query.
Wishing you a faster cure.
Thank you
