What Causes Fainting When Suffering From Low Heart Rate?

Question: 54 yo male had heart attack 3 years ago, (pain in Jaw) has stent in.
height approx 5 ft 11, wt approx 13 stone,
Not on beta blockers, is on cealis, statins and cant remember what else just at the moment.
Has been fine and cardiologsit happy with health (last seen in Sept), generally very fit.
However, this morning while lying in bed awakening - came over with a feeling of 'greyness' - as if he was going to faint. He didnt. He got up ,had breakfast, then told me about it.
(this was about 30 min later)
I took Bp which was 135/76 heart rate 56 and he was feeling fine at the time.
Approx 30 min after that - he was sitting at desk when feeling of faintness came over him again.
He walked upstairs, laid down, and I took BP again - this time 155/96 and heart rate 49.
After 10 minutes rest I took again (he was feelign fine again) 124/77 heart rate 57.
Should we go to hospital now or book apt with cariodlogist tomorrow?
What might this be caused by?

Brief Answer:
I strongly suggest to go immediately to the ER for an emergent evaluation.
Detailed Answer:
Hi and thank you for asking!
I read your query very carefully and understood your concerns.
You are reporting that your husband is experiencing episodes of faintness (pre-syncope or pre-fainting) associated with low heart rates (bradycardia). Faint is very common in patients with prior heart attack and may be associated with cardiac arrhythmias or bradycardias.
This is why i strongly suggest to go immediately to the ER for an emergent evaluation.
Wish you and your husband health!
