What Causes Falling Sensation In A 60 Year Old?

Question: I have had the sensation of falling several times this week but always catch myself before I actually fall. I am 60 years old. In fairly good health. as far as blood pressure, I've generally tested normal to low.

There are number of possibilties, which can cause dizziness in your age.


possibilities includes:

Eye ( errors of refraction)
Cervical spine( spondylitis)
Ear related (bppv, meniers disease, vestibular neuronitis).
Any fluctuations in Bp,
Any fluctuation in blood sugar,
Electrolytes disturbances.


I suggest you to to consult ent surgeon and get detailed ENT examination, balance tests, audiometry tests for associated hearing loss, x ray carvical spine- spondylosis, blood tests- hemoglobin percentage, serum electrolytes, blood sugar, eye testing.
