Many prescription and non-prescription medications cause it!

Detailed Answer:
Warm Welcomes. I appreciate your trust in HCM and assure you are on best portal on the globe for expert online medical services.
I have thoroughly reviewed health query you raised, and well realize all of those concerns. Being your physician, I will take care all of them today and will extend my expertise to solve the problems.

It has been reported that many prescription and nonprescription drugs cause a false positive Urine Drug Screening (UDS) and it is highly recommended that if a patient gets a positive urine drug test, he/she must be offered to go for a more sophisticated drug test so as to avoid serious consequences. Advanced methods (like Gas-chromatography--mass spectrometry) are available to help getting the exact culprit causing the test positive.

Agents that may cause false positive UDS are:-
Antibiotics like quinolones.
Ibuprofen and Naproxen sodium (pain medications and is easily available over the counter).
Clomipramine.
Bupropion.
Brompheniramine.
Chlorpromazine.
Diphenhydramine.
Promethazine.
Doxylamine.
Dextromethorphan.
Quetiapine.
Sertraline.
Ranitidine.
Thioridazine.
Verapamil.
Venlafaxine.
Trazodone.
Nasal inhalers commonly used for respiratory issues.
Amphetamine and Methamphetamine.
Opioid analgesics.
Methadone.
Phencyclidine.
Cannabinoids.
Barbiturates.
Benzodiazepines
And many other anticonvulsants and antidepressants.

Hope I addressed all the concerns you have. Let me know if you have further questions. I will be more than happy to clear any doubts.
