What Causes False Positive Reading For Methamphetamine In A Drug Test?

Question: Good morning, I'm a 36 yr old female with HTN, IBS, MDD, PKD, Depression, Sever Anxiety, DDD.

I've been dealing with my PKD since 2010. My dad just pasted in Oct of 2015 from kidney failure, and I've learned it's genetic. My problem is that wen I go in to have a drug test done I'm coming back positive for amphetamines, and methamphetamine. I'll be honest with you I never used the drug itself, but I did sale it and handle it in large amounts in until about 6 moths ago.

My question is could my kidney disease be the cause of my drug test results showing positive due to the damage of my kidney function.

You are suffering from many illnesses. You are likely taking different medicines for the same. There are many medicines which can cause false positive results for amphetamines and methamphetamine. let me know details of medicines so I can clarify that possibility.

PKD can cause such problem or not is not confirmed. However possibility is there when kidney function is affected much. Sometimes, body chemistry may play a role in your “false positive” results because of a build-up of chemicals in your body due to the fact that you may have problems with the metabolism of the same.
Let me know your renal function test reports - creatinine and urea.
