What Causes Fatigue And Burning Sensation In Thighs, Back And Tendons?

default
Posted on Thu, 16 Apr 2015
Question: I was diagnosed with fibromayalgia 12 years ago. In the past 3 years I have had more pain and fatigue but lately I am having burning sensations in different areas top if the thighs, back and now next to my achilles tendon. It feels more like an ash burn or a scrape like on asphalt. My toes go numb and after a few hours at work my hands spasm, I think due to fatigue. Are these still symptoms of fibro or should I go to a dr? I am currently seeing va docs for the issues that came in while in the navy.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to fibromyalgia.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for posting your query.
The numbness and spasm that you have can be due to fibromyalgia or due to lack of blood supply to the limbs as a result of plaque formation in the blood vessels, diabetes, stroke, multiple sclerosis and underactive thyroid. Abnormal levels of calcium, potassium, or sodium in your body and a lack of vitamin B12 can also cause tingling and numbness sensations.

Firstly, I’ll request you to get your blood sugar/HbA1c (glycated hemoglobin) tested to rule out Diabetes mellitus. Also get your thyroid hormones levels evaluated. You can take some vit B12 for some days and see if the symptoms improve.

I hope this answers your query.
