Question : I traveled to Puerto Vallarta, Mexico last week with my family. My 9 year old got very sick (vomiting, diarrhea and fever) and was prescribed Topron liquid by a local physician. He took it every 6 hours for four days and now is well. I had some initial fatigue and stomach upset but no pain or diarrhea. A full 5 days later I now have diarrhea, stomach pain and fatigue but no fever. This started today. Could I take the Topron as well? Is this typically something that will go away on it's own?

It is perfectly safe to use the same medication. Yes, this is an unfortunate illness, especially considering you were on vacation. However, it dies go away on it's own. It is extremely important to maintain your hydration by taking fluids. Stay well hydrated and the illness will pass.
