What Causes Fatigue, Lightheadedness, Shortness Of Breath And Muscle Pain After Workout?

Question: Hi, I am a 54 yr old female (121 lbs, 5'8") I hadn't done a strenght workout in over a year and so I went to the gym and did a short, light strength workout (legs, core, lower back, and shoulders. I was there for maybe 20 mins. I felt good afterwards and had my protein afterwards, and also had (I hope) enough liquid.
When I woke up this morning, I had a small banana and some coffee for brkfst, because my stomach didn't feel up to par.
I started vacuuming and mopping and noticed that I became fatigued, a little light-headed, a moment of feelinng a little short of breath, and all the muscles groups (and tendons!) I worked out, started aching so much.... It wasn't just soreness, it felt as if I had worked out for hours with heavy weights. It's also more of a burning ache. Then I started having several BM's of very loose stool, and I had to finally go lie down for most of the day. I had taken a warm Epsom salts bath, and I have been drinking water throughout the day. My girlfriend, who just finished her second Ultraman in Kona, gave me an effervescent electrolyte tablet called UNU, and swears by it for when she feels like this during a race. I am drinking that now, and I also took 400 mg of Ibuprofen for the pain and possible inflammation....I havent been able to eat yet because all day I've had a full and sour stomach.
First I was thinking about maybe it was my heart, but I was watching Surgeon Oz at the time LOL, so that was probably a factor in my (psychosomatic) thinking. I have had my flu shot 5 weeks ago, and have no fever or any congestive symptoms, so I ruled that out....
I wonder why this happened and if these are symptoms of something more than just a light workout. It scares me to think that I am so weak, where I have always been so strong.... I slept an uninterrupted 8 hours and I am on HRT, including meds for hypothyroidism, but there have not been any adjustments for several months. I'm sitting here at my computer, and my core muscles are killing me :(
What's your input?

Brief Answer:
Take ORS

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

If you work out after sometime, it is quite usual to feel some muscle soreness and fatigue a day or two after the first day of work out. It will resolve in a few days and is not a cause of concern. You may take some muscle relaxant tablet in the meantime if you feel like. You may continue the work out but on regular basis. Interruption may give rise to such problems when you begin again.

About the loose motion, probably it is unrelated. You need to take oral rehydration solution (ORS) prepared by mixing an entire XXXXXXX in a litre of water. Keep taking it in small sips rather than taking plain water. I would not suggest taking Ibuprofen at least in empty stomach as it may cause hyperacidity. Taking paracetamol 2 tablets together might be equally effective but would not cause that much gastric irritation. Take food as usual.

The other conditions or the HRT are unrelated and so I am not commenting on them. I do not think that it is related to your heart.

Hope that helps. Hoping for you to be fine soon.

Regards
