Question : Hi, My name is XXXXXXX I am 60 yrs old Caucasian female. I just finished a course of ABT for a c-diff infection and over the last 3 days I have been feeling exhausted, slightly tender in the lower abd, with low back/flank pain. This morning when I first urinated there was gross blood..I have to urinate frequently & it is often very hard to get started and is very little but I do have over-active bladder as per my MD. I have lost about 7 lbs in the last 2 weeks, I am a smoker. Should I go to the hospital today or wait & talk to my PCP tomorrow?
Brief Answer:
Early diagnosis amd proper management ASAP
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history of Treatment taken for C. diff, feeling exhausted, tenderness in lower abdomen, with low back/ flank pain, blood in urine today, frequency and overactive bladder.
All the symptoms you have mentioned indicated some problem in urinary tract.
I would advise you the following:
Better to go to hospital as there will be clinical evaluation, examination by a Doctor, sample of blood and urine be taken and an ultrasound of the whole abdomen done.
This will help to get a proper diagnosis and get started on a proper management.
It is better to get an early diagnosis and proper treatment ASAP.
I hope this answer helps you.
