Question : Hi - I have some mysterious immune dysfunction. In the last year I have come down with a viral infection every week, usually lasting 1 - 3 days. A lot of fatigue also. Today just noticed red spots all over my legs. These are not bumps, but look like large red freckles. I am 57, female.

Dear Madam,

Thank you for posting your query on HCM.

Well looking into your issues whatever symptoms you are telling require evaluation for autoimmune disease like SLE . Fatigue , recurrent infections can be a presenting feature for that.

Regarding the rash that you have it will be good if u send pics for the same to determine if its purpuric rash which is very common in autoimmune diseases .

I would suggest you to see a rheumatologist and get CBC , ESR , CPK , ANA , ENA , TSH done as these tests will be basic for evaluation of autoimmune diseases.

Also please tell entire history like photosensitivity , oral ulcers , recurrent abortions if you ever had or any other thing you feel relevant please mention .
