Question : I got off the birth control pill I was on for 10 years or more at the end of Dec 2014. since then, starting maybe the third week in XXXXXXX I started to feel hot. I thought I was coming down with something , and went to doctors and had blood taken, and all blood work has come back normal. I still wasn't feeling myself after a few weeks, so I decided to see more doctors. My reg doctor told me to see a rheumy because my ana was positive at one point. I went to see a rheumy and she said all my blood came back negative and my ana was negative as well... So I left feeling stumped, not knowing anything but still feeling hot! so since this has all happened, I have had numerous blood tests, all coming back fine, ct scans of my chest, abdomen, sinus, and ultrasound of my abdomen with nothing found. I have also had endoscopy and colonoscopy done, and they said I have ulceration of stomach. Fine, I was put on a pantropazole, and I stopped taking this as I feel I don't need it. so now I am coming here to see what you can do to help. I am still hot, throughout days for months. My eyes get red and my eyes feel hot and my throat also feels this way. I feel like I breath hot air out of my nose, its crazy. but I feel like a stuffy hot head all day long until I am at rest. when I go to sleep, I am fine. I don't feel the stuffiness, I just sleep. sometimes I don't sleep well, and other nights I sleep okay. Not like it used to be before.. I never woke up. I have attached my most recent blood work. I don't know what else to do or think. What can you suggest? I feel feverish but don't have a fever. I never register over 98..6%. I am usually around 97.9 or 98.4%

Brief Answer:
Not worrisome.

Detailed Answer:
Hello,
Thanks for trusting us with your health concern.
Only the feeling of hotness without an actually raised body temperature is due to a hormonal disturbance. This can happen due to the usage of birth control pills or due to raised levels of testosterone.
Stress, anxiety, etc can also cause such symptoms sometimes. It is best to relax and increase your daily fluid intake. Doing a regular exercise will also help in making you feel healthy and better.
Do consult an endocrinologist in case the symptoms are persistent.
Please feel free to discuss further. I will be glad to answer the follow up queries that you have.
Wishing you good health.

Brief Answer:
Can be due to fibromyalgia.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.
Thanks for writing again.
It can be due to fibromyalgia. It is not related to anything serious. Just try to take your mind off it. Do some relaxation exercises like yoga and Pranayam.
Hope my answer is helpful.

But I am confused, because when tou hear people say their hot, they say cancer! I am terrified. My normal body temp was low and now it's like 98.0 or 97.9. I know this isn't a fever but if your body temp is normally lower, would this be considered fever ? My eyes burn constantly and I feel like it's being triggered by certain foods. Can this be food related? I just need help. I'm confused. Should I get more blood work?

Brief Answer:
This is not fever.

Detailed Answer:
Feeling hot does not mean cancer. You have already done enough tests and in case of cancer something abnormal would have shown up.
Your temperature is just slightly low. It is within physiological limits. It is not considered as fever.
The burning of eyes could be related to stress or overuse of computers. You can use artificial tear drops or lubricating eye drops. It will help. It is less likely to be food related.

I have like a foggy head everyday and then moments of feeling hot and then I get a headache sometimes. Why hasnt anyone told me how to get rid of this ? Wnen I sleep I am totally fine and feel nothing it's great. But during the day I feel it and it is Terrible: Do you think tbjs is from raised test or fibro?

Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (1 hour later)
Brief Answer:
Can be due to raised testosterone or fibromyalgia.

Detailed Answer:
It is difficult to pin point a single reason without the benefit of an actual examination online. The probable diagnosis includes fibromyalgia, raised testosterone, anxiety, etc. Since the symptoms revert back to normal after a rest, anxiety is also a possible cause.

Anxiety for three months? How is this possible? I don't believe this is anxiety. After having ct scans and blood work, can this be something bad that was missed ? I started a new pill last month and am currently on it now so do you think this will help? And how long Will this take to adjust ? Will I ever be back to my normal temperature when I was on my first pill or that won't happen? Will I feel hot everyday? Was something missed? Do I need more blood work??
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (27 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Nothing major is likely to be missed.

Detailed Answer:
Anxiety can be a part of personality. It can be persistent.
Your CT scans are normal. It is not likely that anything major has been missed. Taking birth control pills or changing them can also cause such symptoms. Now that you have started another pill, it can settle in next 1-2 cycles.
You will return to normal in next few weeks. Just stay calm. No more testing is needed.
Regards.

what does my birth control pill have to do with the heat that I breath out of my nose daily and the way my eyes and throat burn? I don't understand how no doctor can help me. I find this very frustrating.

Brief Answer:
Details below.

Detailed Answer:
In case this does not settle in next 1-2 cycles then you can consult an endocrinologist.
Worrying less about it will help.
The birth control pill itself can cause the feeling of being hot. I can understand your problem. But being so anxious will not help. Increase your fluid intake and just relax.

OK I did see the endo.. but your saying to go back and see them again? What will they do at that point? I will wait to see but you are saying that if it was something serious, I would have known by now?
Also, can my eyes and throat burn by being off these pills or taking new ones?
let me know
thanks!

Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (7 hours later)
Brief Answer:
This is not something serious.

Detailed Answer:
The burning in the throat and eyes can be there after stopping the pills or changing the brand. Let your body take some time to adjust to this. This is not something serious. Rest assured you will feel better soon.
In case the symptoms do not improve, you can get your testosterone levels tested again after 8 weeks. It can be due to fibromyalgia also.
Regards.

Okay so I didn't get the pill this month so I missed yesterday. Should I stay off and see how I feel? Or continue to take it ? Can this be due to anxiety and do I need medication to feel better
doctor
Answered by Dr. Dr. Rakhi Tayal (49 minutes later)
Brief Answer:
Stay off the pill.

Detailed Answer:
You can skip rest of the pills and see how you feel. It is better to take a good anti anxiety with a low day time sedation. You can get it prescribed after consulting your physician.
Regards.
