What Causes Feeling Of Something Stuck In Throat?

GERD (Gastro-Esophageal Reflux Disease).
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thank you for your query.
1. The foreign body sensation in the throat, heartburn, reflux and bad taste in the mouth are symptoms suggestive of reflux.
2. The throat can be examined easily with a videolaryngoscope to look for signs of the irritation and reflux.
3. Anti-reflux medication should include a 8-12 week course of a proton pump inhibitor (PPI: such as rabeprazole, omeprazole or pantoprazole) and a gut motility enhancer (domperidone or levosulpiride) along with a bland diet.
4. An abdominal sonography (USG) and a gastro-endoscopy are indicated if there is no relief during this course. The common associated conditions to be ruled out are Barrett's esophagus, hiatus hernia and h. pylori infection.
5. Besides stomach acid, digestive enzymes and bile are also a part of the reflux.
I hope that I have answered your query. If you have any more questions I will be available to answer them.
Regards.
