Question : I had previously contacted WebMD and was prescribed prednisone for 5 days. I have finished that prescription and am continuing to have severe symptoms: congestion, difficultly thinking, low grade fever 99.8, coughing up thick/green mucous and general body aches. Can someone contact me please?

Hello,
As you already visited the doctor and taken medication for cough and cold. But as you coughing up thick green mucus, that indicates throat infection. The differential diagnosis for that is it may be sore throat, tonsillitis, epiglottitis, laryngitis or lower respiratory tract infection.
For that, I will suggest you take tablet amoxicillin-clavulanic acid 625 mg, tablet Cheston cold. As these are prescription medications, so consult with your family physician. Along with that, you can continue syp. Benadryl, Mucinex.
Along with these medications do warm water gargles or Betadine gargles 3 to 4 times per day. Take steam inhalation twice a day. You can use nasoclear nasal drops locally. Drink plenty of fluid. Keep yourself hydrated. Take proper rest and proper diet. You can do chest x-ray if feeling much congestion.
