                                            most probably an allergic cough
Detailed Answer:
Hi,
Thanks for the query.
From your description the cough seems like an allergic cough.
It is not uncommon for allergic cough to remain persistent for longer periods.
Most of the time in early days of cough there is some wheezing in chest but not always. There can be some associated symptoms like sneezing but not always.
The treatment is usually mucolytic with bronchodilator which you are already takingalong with proton pump inhibitors and steam inhalation. Steroids for few days in the form of inhaler are required in cases which don't respond to above treatment completely.
Please consult an ENT or chest physician in case patient does not improve.
Avoid exposure to dust, pollens and quick changes in temperature.
Feel free to ask another query.
Regards
