Question : I am writing with questions for my daughter. She is a Peace Corps volunteer in rural Peru - for 3-4 days she has experienced the following symptoms. Fever (controllable with Tylenol) rash on her extremities, body aches (especially the neck which she has trouble turning) and fatigue. She has been hiking in rural areas and has had trouble staying hydrated due to limited drinking water.

Taking into Account the prevalence of infectious diseases in Peru, my suspects go for possible Lyme disease or infection due to insect bites .

Can you please tell if she remembers to have been bitten by an insect there? or mosquitoes?
Any blood test run so far?
