Question: I just finished antibiotics for a urinary track infection. The day before my last dose I woke in the middle of the night aching all over and had a fever 101.8. acetaminophen lowered the fever and helped the pain. I also have a headache and my ears hurt. Yesterday my chest started hurting and I have a dry cough. Still ache and running fever. I have been drinking lots of fluid. Do I need to go to the doctor to see if my urinary infection is now a bacterial infection?

It is hard to say is this caused by previous uroinfection or there is new respiratoy infection. Sometimes uroinfection can lead to sepsis ,but it shouldnt manifest with respiratory symptoms so I doubt this is related to your uroinfection.
Since you took antibiotics and I suppose this was wide spectre antibiotic, then it is not likely that your new symptoms are caused by bacterial infection. This is probably viral respiratory infection and it goes with dry cough, headache, fever. So i would not prescribe antibiotic at this point. if there will be productive cough and throat itching you should visit gp and do basic blood tests and lung xrays. if bacterial infection will be then suspected, then you ll need antibiotic course again. It is not recommended to take antibiotics very often since it will increase resistancy.
Wish you good health. Feel free to ask. Regards

If you dont have liver problems you can and should take it till there is a fever >101.
You should not take any other medicines. you should just drink plenty of fluids, take vitamin c supplements, rest and watch for those signs I ve mentioned.
