Question : I frequently wake-up after a short period of time at night and become restless and anxious. Often not being able to find relief for 2 hours plus/ minus. I do not take any sleep aids and never have. I do have barrettes, put it doesn't seem to be an issue of stomach discomfort, but results from a thought or dream.

Hi,

Thank you for posting your query.

I have noted your symptoms and the most likely diagnosis could be anxiety disorder or night terrors (a sleep disorder). Seizures would also need to be excluded.

Proper evaluation would require a sleep study (polysomnography) along with EEG.

As of now, you could use clonazepam tablets at night for relief.
