What Causes Fluctuating Body Temperature When Diagnosed With Liver Abscess?
Question: Hi, I had a liver abscess of about 7 cm. I had mild fever between 99-100F for the duration.yesterday the radiologist performed a drainage and took out about 80ml of pus and sent for culture. Problem is yesterday I didn't feel any fever, however today I am getting a temperature ranging between 99.1 to 99.6F . is this a normal scenario. If yes then for how long I might continue? and if no then what should be the next step?
Thnx

Brief Answer:
You have an obvious reason.
Detailed Answer:
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
I have read your history and understood your concerns.
Having mild temperature as you have mentioned is absolutely within the prognosis of a drained liver abscess.
Please continue your medications and check for blood CNC if it was raised.
Residual abscess is always treated in this way.
I hope this answers your query.
