Detailed Answer:
Hello!

Welcome on HCM!

I understand your concern and would like to explain that your "chilled" sensation with "shaking spasticity" most probably could be due to the normal physiological body reaction secondary to a prolonged cool or cold environment during the night; heart fluttering is usually an associated finding in such conditions.

We commonly shake to produce some extra heat and balance the chilled skin.

Another explanation could be a pyrogenic reaction due to an incipient viral or bacterial inflammation/infection. This is the typical fever. In such case if the unpleasant feeling persists, you need to check your body temperature.

But if your heart fluttering is not an isolated symptom and you have been experiencing it before, an arrhythmic event could be suspected.

Coming to this point, it is advisable performing a medical checkup with a careful physical exam and some additional tests as follows:

- resting ECG,
- complete blood count.
- PCR & ESR (for inflammation),
- cardiac ultrasound,
- a 24 to 48 hours ECG monitoring (Holter),
- thyroid hormones level,
- liver and renal function tests,
- blood electrolytes level,
- fasting blood glucose

Most probable the first alternative be the exact reason of your symptomatology.

Some warm coverage and drinks could be the only measures to get the solution.

But if the symptoms persist, then you need to consider the following recommendations and contact with your doctor.

Hope to have been helpful to you!

In case of any further uncertainties, feel free to ask me again.

Kind regards,

Dr. Iliri
