Arrhythmias are abnormalities in the heart rate and heart rhythm. There may not be an increase in the heart rate but the rhythm of the heart may change. This can cause flutters.
This can occur as a result of stressful situations.
If it does not recur and there is no co existing history of chest pain, shortness of breath, diaphoresis (excess sweating with flutters) no previous history of heart disease then you can monitor.
If your symptoms recur or there is a history of any of the other symptoms mentioned then you need to consider visiting your doctor for an assessment.
This would include physical examination and an ECG (this is a test that can look at the rate or rhythm of the heart).
