What Causes Foul Odor From Vagina?

Question: My vagina has had a very foul odor for a very long time but has gotten worse about 2 months ago when I started using a product called Shakeology. Shakeology made me very gassy and this is when my vaginal odor worsened. The discharge smells like onions and my urine has a strong odor too. Sometimes when I am at work I can smell the foul odor and I feel like others can smell it as well.

I was diagnosed with HPV a few years ago and also have had one abnormal pap smear. I went to my gyno on January 2014. However, she told me that pap smears only need to take place every 3 years instead of 1 so I opted out because I hate getting a pap smear.

I explained my foul odor so she tested me for BV. However, the test for the BV came back negative and no yeast infection was found.

Please help.

Thanks for your query.
If you have excluded the common causes of vaginal odor like :
BV
candida,
chlamydia infection
and PID another cause must be another cause.

In my opinion you should check up your urine.
This makes me think so because you:
1-have strong urine odor
2-vaginal odor is worsened after you have used Shakelogy.
This product contain much proteins and this can increased excretion products in your urine causing this odor.

Have good hygiene and do an urine analysis to rule out urine issues and stop using Shakelogy for some days to see if odor comes from its use .
