Question : I have a son just born, 8 days old. he passes motion very frequently, like 4 to 5 times a day. is it a normal symptoms?
Brief Answer:
Normal. It is XXXXXXX to gastrocolic reflex.
Detailed Answer:
Thanks for the query.
Congratulations for the baby.
You need not to worry about motions, if there is no fever, no greenish vomiting, child is taking feeds properly, passing urine 6 to 8 times.
It may be due to hyperactive gastrocolic reflex, sometimes baby may pass motions after every feed and some times he may not pass the motions for 1 to 2 days , both the symptoms are normal in infant.
Hope i helped you.
