default
Posted on Mon, 14 Dec 2015
Question: a male child 8 years old has on occasions complained of feeling dizzy followed by deep, deep sleep when he awakes he is fine. Could this be a sign of neurological problems? When he was very, very young his father beat him severely in the head and it was swollen for more than a week. He did not receive any medical treatment.

Brief Answer:
He needs to get a CT scan of brain done

Detailed Answer:
Thanks for asking on HealthcareMagic.

Assault to head may lead to chronic subdural hematoma which could manifest with intermittent dizziness followed by deep sleep. Getting a CT scan of brain done would help in detecting if there is an underlying pathology/neurological problem associated.

Let me know if I could help further.

Regards
