Brief Answer:
Possible Reflux disease

Detailed Answer:
Hi and welcome to healthcaremagic,
From your symptoms there are 2 possibilities.

1) GERD - gastro esophageal reflux disease. Acid from the stomach refluxes back into the throat causing foreign body sensation, soreness and cough.

2) Sinusitis is another possibility. Mucus from the back of the nose drips into the throat leading to frequent throat clearing and cough.

To come to a diagnosis you have to see your doctor again because only examination will tell.

Feel free to follow up.

Thanks for you reply, yes what you said is right? have some kind of acidity(which comes up very rarely), but my question is why is the acidity related to this?. If related, Is their any medication I should go for before consulting a doctor. Because what I personally believe is the major cause for all these problems is "MUCUS"( so I want to get rid of this initially).

Brief Answer:
It will go away with treatment.

Detailed Answer:
Hi and thanks for the follow up,

Throat secretes mucous secretions when irritated. The acid from your stomach refluxes up into your throat and irritates your throat leading to excess mucus production. Therefore once the reflux is controlled, mucus will also reduce.

I recommend consulting a doctor who can examine you and confirm my opinion. There are good medications in the form of proton pump inhibitors as well as life style changes which can treat this condition. You can discuss about it with the doctor.
