What Causes Frequent Urination And Pain In The Rectum Area During Ejaculation?

default
Posted on Mon, 22 Jun 2015
Question: 2-3 years ago I started suffering with the constant urge to urinate. In my urine analysis no bacteria was found but there was a trace of blood. Whilst this is no longer as bad I do not think it is yet normal as I sometimes can feel some discomfort in my abdomen and when this happens I tend to urinate more often and feel some wetness in my penis. I thought I may have been suffering with interstitial cystitis however a doctor indicated I had prostatitis. I thought this could be correct as I had experienced on occasion an intense pain in the rectum area during ejaculation. More recently I have experienced on two occasions abdominal muscle spasms during ejaculation. i just saw a post which suggests that this can be because of weak muscles and abdominal exercises can fix this. I am still feeling some discomfort. Your thoughts would be appreciated.
Please note also when the discomfort is more discernible it is associated with me waking up on mornings without an erection. However when there seems not to be as much inflammation I always wake up with an erection.

Brief Answer:
It is either chronic prostatitis / BPH and easily confirmed by examination

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for your query.

I shall make an effort to provide you with good professional recommendations specific to your questions.
Based on the information provided by you, it is in favor of BPH (Benign Prostate Hypertrophy) diagnosis.
Urinary frequency, urgency and dribbling are the common symptoms of BPH.
It can be easily diagnosed by a digital rectal exam, or rectal exam, is a physical exam of the prostate.
So i advice you to see Surgeon / urologist for examination and for diagnosis.
Treatment options for benign prostatic hyperplasia may include lifestyle changes, medications, minimally invasive procedures which is based on the examination.
The other cause for the your symptoms including that of abdominal pain while ejaculation is an inflammation of the prostate gland, so called prostatitis.

In your case it may be either a chronic prostatitis or BPH, to confirm, examining you is required, so i suggest you to see doctor.

Yet again, I duly appreciate your query to me, I do hope that you have found something useful to help you and I shall be glad to answer any further apprehensions.

Sincerely,

What is BPH - is it an enlarged prostate. I have done a rectal examination and the prostate was not enlarged but inflamed. In fact I was told it was prostatitis that I likely had. I was given a long course of antibiotics about 1 year ago.
What are the life style changes, medication and minimal invasive procedures for BPH and for prostatitis.

Brief Answer:
might be a Chronic prostatitis, re examination is recommended.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Good to hear from you.

Yes, BPH is enlarged prostate and life style changes, medication and minimal invasive procedures are for BPH.

Both the entities are seen in age group of late forties and above, as you have also mentioned that you underwent examination year back, I suggest you to go for examination again as these might be the cause of your symptom.

Hope i have cleared your queries. If you do not have any clarifications, you can close the discussion and rate the answer.
Wish you good health.

If it is prostatitis which is not caused by bacteria but poor circulation from too much sitting what are some ways that this can cured or controlled. Looking for diet, exercise and possible medication solutions. I suspect i generally have too much inflammation and a diet change to a less acidic one might prove effective. Looking forward to further feedback.
The other thing is i get up at least twice in the night to urinate. Also since my urine has a stronger smell than before and too me it is stronger when the condition is worse. Would this be a symptom of prostatitis also or bladder inflammation.

Brief Answer:
Consult Doctor to Conform diagnosis of Chronic nonbacterial prostatitis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Good to hear from you.
Possible causes of nonbacterial prostatitis include: A past bacterial prostatitis infection, Bicycle riding etc.
To be diagnosed as Chronic non bacterial Prostatitis, the ractal examination, urine analysis and prostate culture should be normal. It is difficult to come to final diagnosis without examination and investigation.
Long-term antibiotics to make sure that the prostatitis is not caused by bacteria and in many cases use of antibiotics have found to be helpful. Symptomatic treatment using alfa blockers to relax the prostate muscle and NSAIDs to reduce the swelling.

Non drug options include warm baths, acupuncture, cranberry juice have been found to be helpful.

With dehydration, the urine is more concentrated and may have a stronger ammonia scent than normal. I advice you consume more water for few days and observe if there is any difference.

Hope i have cleared your queries.
Wish you good health.

While I have not done a prostate culture a rectal examination showed inflammation and my urine analysis showed a trace of blood. Based on your last comment does this mean it is not Chronic non bacterial prostatitis.

Brief Answer:
Typical symptoms with negative investigation is suggestive of diagnosis.

Detailed Answer:
Hello
Good to hear from you.
To make diagnosis, most of the time a physical exam is normal. However, the prostate may be swollen or tender.
Urine tests may show white or red blood cells in the urine. A semen culture may show a higher number of white blood cells and low sperm count with poor movement. A course of antibiotic will not be able to subside the symptoms.
I advice you to see doctor for examination, these investigation and course of antibiotic. If the tests are negative and even with course of antibiotic, if your symptom doesn't subside a diagnosis of chronic non bacterial prostatitis can be considered.
Hope My suggestions are useful.
Wish you good health.
