Brief Answer:
Continue medication and consult urologist too

Detailed Answer:
Hello XXXXXXX I have gone through your question and understand your concerns.
your father in law is at high risk of vascular events with history of cardiac problem, stroke, diabetes and hypertension.
He needs a good lifestyle, diet and proper medication.
He may go for regular brisk morning walking..
In diet he has to restrict salt intake to 2 gm per day, fruit and decreased high sugar food stuffs.
He should regularly take all prescribed drugs.
Atorvastatin or rosuvastatin can be added if cholesterol is deranged.
For increased frequency of urine he may visit urologist for evaluation regarding benign prostate hyperplasia.
Hope you found the answer helpful.
