Question : My husband is up all night going to the bathroom every forty five minutes he goes to the bathroom. He doesn't get a proper nights rest. what can he do about this? Is it a bladder problem? Should he be seen by a urologist and if so what can they do for him?

This are symptoms are suggestive of an enlarged prostate in the absent of any pains given his age. The best person to consult would be a urologist. For the meantime, he can reduce his water intake and especially before going to bed so as to reduce the amount of urine production and the frequency of urination.

There are medications that can help with this like terazosin, flomax, etc. Please, set up and appointment with a urologist and get him fully evaluated and managed appropriately.
