Brief Answer:
BPH and diabetes both cause frequent urination

Detailed Answer:
Hello Mr XXXXXXX

Thanks for writing to Health Care magic, I am Dr , Muhammad Ahmad , I have read your question closely, I understand your concern and will be helping you with your health related problem.

In this age it is really very common in men to have hypertrophy(enlargement) of their prostate gland, our urethra passes through this gland and when this gland is enlarged it causes pressure on urethra so you can not void well, can't make a good stream , some urine stays in the bladder after voiding and bladder gets filled quickly yet again and you have to rush to the toilet frequently.

Masturbation has no role in that though, the main cause in my opinion is suspected prostate hypertrophy, for this problem we ask the patient to use Tamsulosin and this is what your doctor asked you to do as well, and this would have helped you much with your symptoms, now when you are off it, the symptoms might have gotten back to worse.

Secondly in a diabetic if sugars are not controlled ,urination gets more frequent doesn't matter if one is male or female. So I would suggest you two things.

1) Try to control your sugars well within range.
2) Discuss with your urologist about the possible cause and treatment of frequent micturation. In my opinion this is BPH but it can only be confirmed through a pelvic ultrasound.

I hope this answered your question, If you have more queries I am happy to answer you.
Regards.

Dr.Muhammad Ahmad
