What Causes Frequent Urination While On Femilon?

Question: Dear Doctor,

Good evening and I hope you are well.If you remember I had asked you a few questions last month about starting Femilon birth control pills.I am currently on my second pack right now, I am in the last week. For about a week, I have been getting sudden urges to pee , more often than usual. When I do relieve myself in the restroom, I find that I sometimes get a tiny burning sensation, more like a slight tingle when I pee. This has been going on for about a week, I guess it is normal when you start using a new birth control pill? It is not burning but more like a slight flash or tingle like I said. But I am peeing more often in the past week than I did earlier and I wonder if this is normal/because of the Femilon birth control pill. Please let me know.
2.Also, I am taking Vitamin C tablets daily.I took some since I was getting too many colds and needed more vitamin C to prevent them.Vitamin supplements like Vitamin C tablets do not affect the effectiveness of the pill right? Just checking, don't think they do.Should I start taking Vitamin B6 tablets? I read that pills deplete your body of Vitamin B, that is why I am getting boils on my face.

Brief Answer:
Take B complex vitamins

Detailed Answer:
Hello mam, thanks for trusting health care magic.
Good to talk to you again and as before I appreciate your active search for appropriate reasons for the mild to moderate symptoms you have been getting.
Yes oral pills can cause slight congestion of the bladder in the last week of pulls especially which is usually tolerated well and need no active treatment.
Vitamin C is good but should be taken in a cyclical manner and thus if you have had it for more than 15 days then leave it for a while and then start again If needed after 15 days or so.
Vitamin C has no relation with pill intake but can help to fight minor respiratory and urinary infections so is a beneficial add on.
Take vitamin B complex tablets if you are a vegetarian as pills definitely deplete some of the vitamins but no need in case you are a non-vegetarian who have ample supply of vitamins as compared to vegetarian people.
Take care.

Dear doctor,

Thanks for your detailed answer once again, it is really helpful.I am not a vegetarian but I eat very little non-veg,that too rarely. So it is better that I take the vitamin B complex tablets since my boils are better after taking them.
Just one more question.

1.I am taking a vitamin B complex that has some vitamin c in it according to the leb.It says 'Becosules capsules-B-complex forte with Vitamin C'. This is the only vitamin B that I had at home.It is okay if the dose includes some vitamin C in it too, right? Because as you said, vitamin tablets do not affect the effectiveness of the Femilon pill.

2.Does the time that I take the vitamin tablets make a difference at all in connection to the Femilon birth control pill? I take the Femilon at around 12 noon daily. I take the B complex in the mornings at around 7.30 ....sometimes I take it in the evening if I forget. This is okay, right?

Brief Answer:
No interaction

Detailed Answer:
Yes it is completely alright to take your bcomplex tablets as you have been taking and they have no interaction with femilon pills at all so can be taken anytime.
If your B complex tablet is already fortified with vitamin C its very good and thus can be taken as before.
No need to change the formulation at all.

Dear Doctor,

I am currently on my second pack of Femilon birth control pill as I mentioned earlier. Today, I just had an upset stomach, no pain in my stomach now, but it was feeling uneasy for a short while.I read that this is one of the side effects of the new birth control pill in the first few months...Is this true?
Also, I took yesterday's Femilon at around 12 noon, and had the stomach upset at around 11.25 am today...which means it has been almost 24 hours since my last pill.Is the effectiveness of the pill safe? Or is it reduced?

Please reply soon...thanks.
Dear Doctor,

One more thing, my stomach is still a bit upset, though it is much better now. But I had an upset stomach the whole day, it is now 6.15 pm.So I guess the pill may not have been absorbed ...I took my Femilon today at noon...But I think an hour later and also at around 5 pm I had an upset stomach again in the bathroom....
I read earlier that it is advisable to use back up precautions ( condoms) for 7 days in case the pill has not been absorbed in the body because of the bad stomach.I use condoms always anyway. Anyway, let me know if I should worry...or just continue the Femlin as normal.I hope you have a great week:)

Brief Answer:
Precautions advised

Detailed Answer:
Hi dear, sorry for the delay in response.
Yes in days of stomach upset a back up method is important for 2 days after the stomach upset is fine.
It is good that you have been using protection during sex so nothing to worry.
Also you should start taking curd or yakult two three times day which has good Bacteria and thus will help in curing stomach upset.
Avoid outside food and milk till you don't feel well
