Question : Hi, I am a 34 year old female and lately I feel like my brain is not getting enough oxygen. I notice my veins are popping out when I speak and I feel like I can't remember things, as if my brain was fuzzy. I forget words that I commonly use and I tend to get names mixed up when I'm speaking. I'm not sure with what specialty I should follow up

Brief Answer:
Neurologist evaluation is appropriate in your case.

Detailed Answer:
Hello and thanks for using HCM.

I have read your query and understand your concerns.

Since you are experiencing problems with memory and your brain seems not to function correctly, you should be evaluated and examined first by a Neurologist, in order to evaluate/exclude any organic brain condition that may be responsible for your symptoms.

Evaluation consists on mental state examination, neurologic examination and, if indicated by these examinations, brain imaging studies.

So, consult a Neurologist and discuss your concerns.

Hope you found the answer helpful.

Take care.
