Question : What does gall bladder pain feel like? I have a pain that woke me up this morning. I thought it might be due to this Zpack I am on for a sinus infection, but the past couple days bland food like oatmeal would take the pain away, this is not going away. It's right in the middle of my abdomen. Not gas, not heartburn a very distinct pain. I am also starting to feel very nauseous. The pain is dull, not sharp, but significant enough that I can't do anything.

Brief Answer:
slightly Right sided just below the rib cage.

Detailed Answer:
Hi

Thank you for asking HCM.

I have gone through your query. Gall bladder pain is usually right sided and just below rib cage. There can be possible dull pain and intensified by fatty food intake. Cakes or egg yolk can gives an attack of gall bladder pain easily. Relief can be attained by hot water bag application. Azithromycin can increase gall bladder pain in those who are susceptible.

Early morning pain or hunger pain is also characteristic for peptic ulcer.
You can take over the counter proton pump inhibitors like Esomeprazole (Nexium) and apply hot water bag.

An ultrasound examination of abdomen will be helpful to rule out gall bladder problems.

If that is clear then it can be treated as gastritis/peptic ulcer with proton pump inhibitors.

Let me know if anything not clear.
I am happy to help you.
Thanks.
