Question : I have gangrene on the tip of my left I XXXXXXX finger. Saw a hand surgeon on Thursday...he prescribed a nitro cream and said he'd see me in 2 weeks. He did say the dead skin would have to be surgically removed, but wasn't specific as to when. Just since I saw him the gangrene has doubled in size and burns terribly. I feel if he waits 2 weeks I won't have a finger left. Am I wrong to be so concerned?

Brief Answer:
Please attach a photo of it.

Detailed Answer:
Hello.

Thank you for the query.

Can you please attach a photo of this finger?
Generaly if you have arteries problem in this area, it can not be improved in satisfactory level. Neither nitro or any other medicine wont stop it. And even with quick surgical intervention, the final result will be the same.
Quick surgical intervention is needed in case of infection.

Hope this helps.
Regards.
